Ok, I have managed to get my blog up and running. Now for my first post!
I hope that this training is the first step in me becoming more comfortable in using Web 2 technologies, both personally and professionally. I have worked in libraries for 13 years and over this time technology has gone ahead so quickly, it is sometimes a struggle to keep up with what is going on.
Lifelong learning is an extremely important part of life (both at work and at home). I try to keep an open mind and am always willing to learn new things (or at least try to), particularly in this day and age of rapidly changing technology. If you aren’t even willing to listen to new ideas and options available, you will be left behind.
Being an avid reader, blogs have become a new medium for me. You can always find something about anything in a blog. I subscribe to a few on a variety of subject matters but have never actually created or maintained one of my own.
